It is New Years Eve Day. I wanted to give a little toast to kick things off today and wanted to try something unique. As much as I love mimosa’s and their endless variations, this year I dared to be different.
Scouring through my craft cocktail books I stumbled upon this cocktail idea and immediately fell in love with it. It combines Gin, Lemon, and marmalade. All of these things I love! So I gave a try and viola! It is wonderful.
I did change it slightly. The recipe I found called for an orange marmalade. I didn’t have that, but did have a grapefruit one I thought would work equally as well, and it did.
If you are looking for something a little bit different to try, I suggest you give this on a go. Happy New Year!
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker add ice. Combine 1 3/4 oz Beefeater Gin, 1/2 oz Cointreau, 1/2 oz lemon juice, and 1/3 oz grapefruit marmalade. Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the grapefruit rind and a piece of segmented grapefruit.
Cheers!
